The stress response is a primitive mechanism hardwired into humans as a means of promoting our survival. In in the face of today’s ongoing stresses, however, the stress response can serve to do more harm than good. This show will introduce listeners to the physiological and psychological effects of stress, and make a strong argument for the neccessity of good stress management and relaxation practices. The subsequent four podcasts will expose listeners to four experiential relaxation techniques.
